Cybersecurity firm CTM360 has revealed a rise in cryptocurrency scams aimed at people using TikTok Shop.

According to a report published on August 4, scammers are running a campaign called “ClickTok”, which tricks users through fake websites, malware, and misleading promotions.

The scheme begins with ads on Meta platforms and AI-generated TikTok videos made to look like posts from influencers. These lead viewers to fake shopping pages that closely resemble real ones.

CTM360 explained that these sites are set up to either steal login information or install apps containing hidden malicious software.

More than 10,000 scam websites have been linked to this operation. Although TikTok Shop is only available in 17 countries, the scam has reached users around the world.

Once someone visits one of the fake sites, they are shown products with big discounts and urged to act fast using countdown timers. This pressure tactic pushes people to pay without taking time to think. The scammers then ask for payment in cryptocurrency, often Tether

They are told to deposit money into fake crypto wallets and shown false earnings pages with promises of commissions that never arrive.
