Emirates, the airline based in Dubai, has signed an agreement with Crypto.com
$2.64B
to integrate cryptocurrency payments into its system.
This collaboration follows a statement by Emirates back in 2022, when it first mentioned interest in accepting Bitcoin. At the time, no official rollout took place.
With this new partnership, the airline is taking a step toward making crypto payments a real option for its customers.

Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, said in a statement that working with Crypto.com shows the airline’s goal of offering more choices to customers. He added that this could help reach younger travelers who already use digital currencies in their daily lives.
The company has not explained which cryptocurrencies will be accepted or what exactly people will be able to pay for using them. It is also unclear whether crypto will cover just flight tickets or also other services, such as baggage fees, seat upgrades, or in-flight purchases.
Crypto.com offers a service called Crypto.com Pay, which lets businesses accept more than 20 different cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin
Eric Anziani, Crypto.com’s President and Chief Operating Officer, stated that collaborating with a well-established airline like Emirates could help increase the adoption of cryptocurrencies.
