Global and Perplexity AI have started a new partnership that brings live cryptocurrency prices and data to Perplexity’s search tools.

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong announced the collaboration in a July 10 post on X. He stated that the deal will help people get clear and reliable information about digital assets directly while they search online.

The partnership is launching in two stages. Starting immediately, Perplexity’s Comet browser add-on will display prices, charts, and Coinbase’s COIN50 index as part of its market insights. Users will be able to see this data alongside their search results when they look up crypto topics.

The next phase, which Armstrong said is “coming soon,” will have Perplexity’s AI include Coinbase data directly in its answers. This allows users to check prices, track trends, and learn about specific tokens just by asking questions.

By connecting its data feed to Perplexity’s AI, Coinbase aims to make it easier for newcomers and experienced users to understand what is happening in the cryptocurrency market without needing to visit a separate platform.

For Perplexity, the feature adds a new way for its users to get up-to-date information directly within search results.

Additionally, Armstrong said in the announcement:

This new access to reliable real-time data via increasingly intelligent LLMs will help lots more people make smart, informed decisions about crypto.
