The figure appeared on the National Mall, opposite Union Square in Washington, DC, not far from Capitol Hill and the White House.

Organizers described the display as a tribute to Trump’s support of digital currency and decentralized finance (DeFi).

One of the organizers, Hichem Zaghdoudi, spoke to ABC 7News DC that the statue was meant to spark public conversation about the role of traditional currencies versus decentralized alternatives. He described the project as a symbol of how financial trends and political leadership are beginning to overlap.

In another interview, Zaghdoudi said the display was a message of gratitude to Trump. He claimed the president’s influence helped pave the way for wider acceptance of Bitcoin and cryptocurrency by major institutions.

The group also launched a meme coin on Pump.fun and hosted several livestreams to raise awareness and gain interest in the token.

During one of the livestreams, an organizer mentioned that the statue was made from a type of dense foam. This made it easier to carry while maintaining a solid appearance.

Posts from the group on X showed a machine carving the statue’s head and several people moving the piece into place.
