Sun had secured a seat back in 2021 by placing a $28 million bid during a Blue Origin auction. He was originally set to travel on the company’s first human flight with founder Jeff Bezos, but scheduling changes pushed his trip to a later mission.

Joining Sun on the NS-34 flight were five others from a range of professions. They included venture capital investor J.D. Russell, Turkish businessman Gökhan Erdem, real estate investor Arvi Bahal, meteorologist Deborah Martorell, and teacher Lionel Pitchford.
All six passengers experienced a few minutes of weightlessness and a clear view of Earth from space before the capsule returned under parachutes.
Speaking after the flight, Sun stated in a post on X:
Earth is so small, and it’s our home. We definitely need to do whatever we can to protect it.
He added that seeing almost the entire planet through the window made the mission’s name feel especially fitting.
