A new musical satire called Luigi: The Musical is drawing crowds in San Francisco.
The story features Sam Bankman-Fried, who shares a prison cell at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center with Sean “Diddy” Combs and Luigi Mangione.
The show opened on June 13 at Taylor Street Theatre, a small venue with just 49 seats. The musical, which runs for one hour, presents each character as a symbol of failure in a major industry: Bankman-Fried for technology, Mangione for healthcare, and Combs for entertainment.

Rather than focus on court details, the production uses humor to reflect on the systems these figures represent.
Sam Bankman-Fried is played by André Margatini, who performs a mock TED Talk from inside his cell. His speech makes fun of Silicon Valley culture, with references to the FTX collapse and the money investors lost.
One scene features him singing a song called “Bay Area Baby”, in which he presents himself as a tech insider from Palo Alto who disregards legal boundaries.
Another moment shows him trying to bribe a guard by saying he wants to “take the concept of incarceration and tokenize it”, an idea that pokes at the crypto trend of turning any concept into a digital asset.
Due to high demand, a sixth show is planned for July 13 at The Independent, located on Divisadero Street, which has a capacity of up to 500 people.
Meanwhile, Shaquille O’Neal recently reached a $1.8 million settlement over claims he promoted FTX. How will the money be used? Read the full story.
